Together with light artist Jaap van den Elzen, I’m currently working on a new sound- and lightscape titled Waxing, Waning for the festival Nederlandse Muziekdagen 2009. In the concert hall of Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ sound becomes space, space becomes light and light becomes time. Waxing, Waning - a tidal game for the senses - is made specifically for the LED light walls in the concert hall of the Muziekgebouw. The electronically processed ambient music has a constant dialogue with lightscape of Van den Elzen. Electrical luitist Joseph van Wissem improvises in this singing and iridescent environment. Waxing, Waning promises to be a multi-sensory experience, a breathing space of color, sound and light. You can watch a movie of our last visit to the Muziekgebouw and see the LED walls working here.

Last saturday saw the first performance of Lunapark, the new ensemble I founded together with Arnold Marinissen. In the Word Art House in Well (Limburg) we performed works by John Luther Adams, Steve Reich, Arnold Marinissen, Tom Johnson, Peter Garland and myself – in a wonderful garden filled with sculptures. We had five stages on different places in the garden, great sound and light technique, and an enthusiastic audience.
