waxing, waning (2)

„The perception through vision creates the sensation in taste. The same thing can happen in sound and sound can change the perception of color” (James Turrell)

On the eve of the new sound- and lightscape Waxing, Waning that I made together with light artist Jaap van den Elzen and avant-pop lutist Jozef van Wissem, there are some interesting sites to visit. First of all, there’s the festival site of Nederlandse Muziekdagen itself. It features a calendar, bios, documentaries, a 3D World, and the interview Michael Fahres did with Jaap, Jozef and me. Most of it is in Dutch. But hey, after all these are the Dutch Music Days.

The site of Jaap van den Elzen, the visual artist features a special webpage dedicated to Waxing, Waning. On it you can see photos and movies, and read the blog he wrote during the process here. Jaap also made a special YouTube Channel for Waxing, Waning, featuring three movies so far. And there’s Facebook (only for members) with an event page dedicated to the generative installation. Waxing, Waning will also be filmed, broadcasted and netcasted by Radio 6. More details to follow later.

Want to experience Waxing, Waning? Come visit the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ on Sunday 11 October, 1-2 PM. It will be the only chance to see and hear it live.
